The digital colour-type analysis offers several ways to analyse your colouring:

1. Automatic mode — automatically determines your color type using built-in mathematical analysis. This takes just a few seconds.

2. Manual mode — lets you select the relevant areas of your appearance yourself. Manual analysis gives a more precise result.

Tip: run the automatic mode first, then carry out the analysis manually and compare the two results.

Let's walk through how to perform a colour-type analysis manually.

Step 1

Prepare your photo. You can find detailed requirements for the source image in the article "Photo Requirements for Colour-Type Analysis".

Step 2

Upload your image into the "Colour-Type Analysis" tool in a 3:4 format.

Step 3

To the right of the uploaded photo you will find the analysis tools: hair, skin, and eyes. Each parameter is assessed separately and in sequence. Activate the relevant tool and select the corresponding area on the image. If the hair is coloured or absent, you can enable the "ignore hair" option.

Step 4

If any unwanted areas have been included in your selection — such as highlights or background elements — use the "subtract" (−) function, which works like an eraser. You can adjust the eraser size for more precise editing.

If you need to extend the mask, you can use the "Fill by colour" function or add areas manually with the brush. Make sure the "add" (+) function is active when doing this.

Step 5

Once all areas have been correctly defined, click the "Manual" button. The tool will lock in the range of consistent shades and identify the dominant tone of your appearance.
